Temple Walk

A scenic undulating return walk with our informative local guides.
Walk through mountain farmlands of cacao and coffee to a traditional Balinese temple.
Learn about the fruits and produce from this area and taste local fruits on the way.
There are frequent ceremonies which you are welcome to join.

Rainforest Walk


A 3-hour scenic walk into the rain forest. See vanilla, cacao, coffee and other fruits growing on the way.
Then submerge yourself into the beautiful Batukaru rain forest,
where you will see amazing birds nest ferns, native flora and butterflies. Suitable for all ages.

Food Forest and Rice Paddy Walk


An informative and scenic 2-3 hour walk with our experienced guides.
Stroll through groves of cacao and cloves, pass terraces of rice paddies,
see Bali cows and stunning views to the Southern coast of Bali.

Rice Paddy Walk to Bling Bing
A beautiful walk through traditional Bali.
Starting at 9am, walk for 4-5 hours through undulating farmlands, villages and stunning panoramic rice paddies.
Return transport by car included.

Trek to Pura Batukaru
A challenging, yet rewarding trek overland from Sarinbuana Eco Lodge through rice paddies and traditional farmlands ending at
the lovely mountain Temple of Batukaru. (Pura Batukaru). This is one of the most important directional Temples in Bali.

Day Trek to the top of Mt Batukaru (2,200m)
Best time to climb is Aug – Oct
Mt. Batukaru (2200 m) is the second highest mountain to Mt Agung (3142 m).
The word Batukaru translated means, “The Coconut Shell Rock”.
Mount Batukaru is an extinct volcano.
Trekking to the summit is a 4 – 5 hour trip, and 3 – 4 hours to return.
A high level of fitness is required – it can be very steep and challenging in parts of the climb.
A day return trip should be started around 7 am to allow time to return in daylight.
Note: This walk is not recommended for children under 12 years old.

By taking a guided rainforest walk from Sarinbuana Eco Lodge you are supporting a sustainable local economy.
Regular eco-income demonstrates to locals that eco-tourism is more sustainable than extractive exploitation of their native flora and fauna.
A Donation of Rp25.000 (USD$2.80) per person is contributed to the Sarinbuana Trekking Guide Association
Experienced Trekking Guides
Friendly & knowledgeable local trekking guides will take you on
a fascinating walk into the largest remaining wet rainforest on Bali,
through rice paddies or cacao, coffee & rice farms.
Departure times
Most walks are taken in the morning after 9am walks are 3 hours long.
Shorter & longer walks are available to suit your fitness & sense of adventure.
We have walks suitable for all age groups.
Your Safety
Guides have had training in basic First Aid.
Guides carry mobile phones.
For spiritual, safety and economic reasons the local community
has asked that all foreigners to be accompanied by a local guide
when entering the rainforest.
The Mt Batukaru protected rainforest is home to:

- Crab-eating Macaques (monkey), local name monyet or bojog
- Black leaf eating monkey
- Pangolin (armored anteater), local name, Trenggiling
- Porcupines, local name Landak
- Black Eagles & Brahmany Kites, local name kekelik
- Reticulated python (longest snake in the world), local name, ular pithon
- Snakes, eg the Oriental whip snake, pit viper & Banded krait
- Atlas moth (largest moth in the world), local name Kupu Kupu Barong
- Many different native orchids
- Several species of insectivorous & fruit-eating bats
- Plus many interesting insects and birds
